The history of Swiss Technical Services
:
Swiss International Air Lines Limited has evolved from Crossair Limited Company for European Regional Air Transport in April 2002 after the bankruptcy of the Swissair Group.

Crossair started its operation initially with Metroliner aircraft, followed by SAAB340, Fokker 50, BAe146-200, AVRO RJ85 and RJ100, and as launch customer for SAAB 2000 turboprop aircraft. With the new Embraer RJ145 another popular 50-seater aircraft was added to the regional segment in March 2000.

Over the years Crossair, and later SWISS built up its extensive Heavy Maintenance capabilities to support C-Checks and modifications for SAAB 340/2000, BAe146/AVRO RJ and ERJ145 regional aircraft, as well as cabin modifications on Airbus A320 family.

In order to meet the increasing customer demand, especially in Europe, SWISS started Third Party Base Maintenance on C-Checks, Engines, APUs and Component Services.

In addition, since 2003 SWISS has developed its Line Maintenance capacities and performs Line Maintenance services on stations around the world.

The percentage of customer-related maintenance tasks has gradually increased over the last few years, and amongst our customers we can now count well-known companies such as Lufthansa CityLine, SN Brussels and Aegean Airlines.
